Sessions run every second and fourth Thursday of the month, 10:30-11:30, from my cosy home studio. With no more than four children attending per session, or up to six children during the summer when we also have access to outdoor space, each child will receive all the attention and encouragement they need to make great art.
Please bring your child in clothes that don’t matter. Aprons are provided, but children seem to prefer not to wear them, and mess will happen!
Parents are encouraged to stay in the comfortable lounge (next door to the studio), where they can chat, read, work and make use of the WiFi.

Get ready…
…for a messy, marvellous adventure where your child is empowered to celebrate their individuality. With a variety of art materials available, the balance between structure and freedom allows even the most hesitant of young artists to flourish. In the studio, the chaos of artistic expression is welcomed!

Captivate the imagination!
Every session revolves around a captivating idea or visual inspiration, sparking curiosity and fuelling creative exploration. Join us in nurturing the beginnings of a lifelong love and understanding of art that will provide your child with the potential to excel.
May-July 2025
During the Summer block, the children will use inspiration from the garden to explore a range of fun and fascinating 2D and 3D art making opportunities. Each session can be booked as a single, one-off experience, or choose a few for your child to build upon the skills they learn. The full block of six sessions can be booked together for a discount.

Pinch Pots
Thursday 15th May 10:30-11:30
We will be using air-dry clay to make small pots, pressed with plant forms. These pots will need time to fully dry and cure, and will be decorated as part of the next session (29th May)..

Sun Pictures
Thursday 29th May 10:30-11:30
We will discover cyanotypes, a form of photography using the sun to create delicate negative prints on paper.
Clay pots from the previous session will also be painted during this session.

Shadow Art
Thursday 12th June 10:30-11:30
Building upon the idea of negative shape (Sun Pictures session session) we will be drawing and painting shadows in the garden.

Bees and Honeycomb
Thursday 26th June 10:30-11:30
Hopefully, by this time the children will have met plenty of bees in the garden. This session, they will print a honeycomb and practise their observational skills to look closely at and draw bees.
The Art of Rosalind Wise
Thursday 10th July 10:30-11:30
The artist Rosalind Wise draws upon the vibrant colours of a garden in her artwork, and this will be the inspiration for this painting and collage session.
A large painting by Rosalind Wise can be viewed up close at Nature in Art gallery in Twigworth.

Butterflies
Thursday 24th July 10:30-11:30
For the final session of this block, we will be noticing symmetry whilst we make beautiful sun catcher butterflies.
My studio is in Northway, just outside of Tewkesbury, near J9 of the M5. Numbers 41 and 71 buses pass at the end of the road, which is just a ten minute walk from Ashchurch-for-Tewkesbury railway station.
Full address details will be shared upon booking.
There is an intentional overlap in the ages for Art Clubs. This option is perfect for children who enjoy playing with art and would benefit from a place to try out materials and techniques with a little gentle instruction. Youngster’s Art Club explores creativity and inspiration, using children’s natural curiosity to find ways to explore more deeply.
If you are unsure which Art Club would be the best fit for your child, please contact me at alainastorrarart@gmail.com to arrange a chat.
